Nestled in a quite sitting amidst trees and fields is the Day’s Inn located in Newton, Iowa. After spending two nights there, the decision was made that we will most defiantly return. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms, though small- are very clean and well kept.
Dan, the desk clerk who works days, has the exact personality needed for his position. He left the stiff “all business” approach for someone else and turns on his boyish grin and country charm the minute you walk through the door. After spending two days at the Motel Day’s Inn, we felt we had not only had an enjoyable stay, but had also found a friend in Dan.
The rates were very affordable even before we were given truckers rates and for an extra small charge we were permitted to keep our dogs in the room. Amazing! The required weight for pets is 100 pounds…so our Black Lab Buckley was well accepted. Shiloh on the other hand meets the weight requirements of other motels which have a 25 pound limit…poor Buckley is not accepted in THOSE restricted motels.
Conveniently located next door to the Day’s Inn is a Perkins Restaurant. The food is delicious and the staff hospitable. Also, in the same local, between Perkins and the motel, is several spaces for truck parking.
A large field, adjacent to the motel is a nice place to walk the dogs. The sidewalks are tree lined, which Buckley will know when we return, he has been there before. He certainly appreciated the trees.
If you are looking for a nice quite, hospitable place to stay for the night or longer, Day’s Inn located in Newton, Iowa, with easy access on to I-80, is the place of choice. Personally, I will give the motel five stars plus five more.
Rachel, who I believe is the day shift manager, is a delightful, beautiful lady. She has a bubbly personality and is eager to ensure your stay is everything you expect it to be.
For closure, I cannot rave enough about the guest services, the friendly employees, or the comfort. It is without a doubt, a place of quality and the right place to stay when traveling on Interstate 80 through Iowa.
