An open letter to Mr. President, Donald Trump (Save Uganda President Donald Trump)
Dear Mr. President, I salute you in the name of Jesus Christ our lord on behalf of Ugandans at large. I am a male Ugandan, aged 33 soon making 34 late this year. I extend my sincere greetings to the Great American people who saw the good leadership qualities in you and chose you as their leader despite the immense negative criticism from politicians and the media that you normally term as "fake media". You emerged a victor above all negativity as you promised them greatness once you are elected as their President and I must say you are true to your campaign promises. America has witnessed greatness ever since you took over from the Former President Barack Obama. Unemployment has tremendously reduced due to many jobs that have been created and security has been tightened. Currently America has regained its respect as a super power we all grew up admiring. The policies are favorable for all citizens, and it’s through your wisdom and leadership the world witnessed a historical event of long term rivals coming together and that is North Korea and South Korea. You didn't stop at that, America for the first time in history met with the North Korean president in Singapore after many years of rivalry. That was a great gesture for global peace. Thank you Mr. President.
My appeal or request to you is to also look into African affairs Mr. President, in particular the affairs of Uganda. America has been friends with Uganda for many years, and has been championing promotion of democracy and human rights for all citizens in Uganda. It’s because of America's foreign policy that is strict on those above core values that Ugandans have been spared of their lives otherwise if it was say Chinese foreign policy of non-interference in countries' politics, Ugandans would all be prisoners of a dictatorship. Since independence in 1962, Ugandans have never witnessed any peaceful transfer of power from one leader to another, it has all been through military takeovers. Our current president, Mr. Yoweri Museveni came into power in 1986 with promises of peace and democracy, but since then we have witnessed a lot of human rights violations, imprisonment without trial, corruption, extra judicial killings, massacres allover Uganda and imprisonment of opposition leaders, and media censorship. For the last 32 years, Ugandans have been witnessing all those atrocities inflicted on Ugandans by the regime with high levels of impunity. Oh my mother land Uganda!. Since 1st July 2017, social media has been “shutdown” in order to regulate our criticism of his overstayed regime that has done nothing in terms of infrastructural development and democracy. So, Mr. President, I know our President uses your tax payers money to unleash terror on us, my humble request to you is to become strict on him. If you can't take on him militarily, at least cripple his financial fundings. Otherwise as Ugandans we would love to see Uganda great as you have made America great again. With your strong personality, as you call a spade; a spade not a spoon am sure by the time you finalize your term as one of the Greatest Presidents America has ever witnessed, Ugandan issues shall be handled, and I also extend my appeal to great people of America to continue advocating for peace and democracy in our country Uganda and Africa at large. Thank you Mr. President Trump Donald.
I remain yours sincerely,
