ISP’s and web devices around the world are mourning the loss of another great inventor. Word came in the early morning hours of October 6, 2011, announcing the death of Steve Jobs, Co-founder of Apple Computer.
Undoubtedly, many will be writing of personal and business connections with the fallen businessman and inventor, but what has he left behind in addition to his family and business? What is his lasting legacy? These questions can be answered in brief statements, with an abundance of examples.
He and Steve Wozniak presented to the world the true spirit of America. The value of creativity and the can do spirit was exemplified in their creativity and inventions. Millions, if not billions of people around the world are benefiting from inventions and innovations from the mind of Steve Jobs and Apple computer. The loss of Steve Jobs will not be mourned by all in the Information Technology industry. Like most inventors and businesspeople, he had enemies and advisories.
As a lasting memory one fact should stand out for all to see; competition is on of the greatest strengths and attributes to man kind. It allows for improvements and growth, which increases development and creativity. Apple Computer presented a challenge to Dell, IBM and all other brands and manufacturers of computers and led the way in innovation and creativity. This forced the hand of the status quo to do more and better. Mac systems offered and alternative to Windows, as Apple was an alternative to many other brands. This is only a few things Steve Jobs should be remembered for.
The entire world should stop for a moment and thank the creator for allowing us to have experienced Steve. May he rest in peace.
