Americans born and raised in the greatest country in the world. During a time when Freedom, Peace and Liberty truly weighed significantly heavy on the heart. The United States flag was worthy of recognition and Freedom was the stronghold that kept the country moving. Liberty, passed down to all American’s from the Founding Fathers who gave birth to the astounding writings of the United States Constitution. There was a time, it seems so long ago, that Americans did not need to be reminded to Trust in God. Knowing the source of Freedom, Peace and Liberty came directly from the Higher Power was taught not only in the homes and churches, but in the classrooms as well.
The semblance of strength and power for the strongest country in the Universe is recognized by the eagle. In the Holy Scriptures of God, American’s were inspired to believe that, “We shall mount up with wings as eagles, we shall walk and not be weary, we shall run and not faint.” That is the stamina of the mighty eagle and as well that of our United States service men and women.
The troops, those presently and those who have given their time to ensure that the freedom bell continues ringing across this great land showed respect to the grand old red, white and blue with a sharp salute. Veterans from wars past recognize the flag as following them to battle fields afar. The flag, though often tattered remained a constant reminder to those in battle that America was worth the tribulation they faced day after day, even if it meant giving their lives, as many did, for the Country they loved.
Many soldiers of wars past, and those who are presently fighting for the same cause…America’s Freedom, Peace and Liberty, depend on God. In God we trust is forever in their hearts as they prepare to face the enemy. Trusting that God will be with them in a drastic foreign land as they exploit their admiration and heart felt devotion to the Americans of whose safety they battle for.
With hearts of eagles young soldiers face battle against the enemies who attacked this great Country on 9-11. A dreadful time for all America. Around the nation weeping and gathering together showed the rest of the world, though the fabric Americans are made from may tear or become separated, but in times of trouble the strongest know how to mesh together.
Attempting to glue together the brokeness this Country has withstood, is the brave women and men who risk the very idea of ever seeing their homeland again. Without our Military this country would surely fail. There is not an equivalent in any language, to match the thanks and gratitude that all American citizens should expound upon each and every soldier. They are the mainstays, the victorious warriors who have conquered many an enemy in war time, managing to keep peace on the home grounds. They are, whether decorated or even recognized as such, the real American Idols.
A salute to a man or woman in uniform, and a thank you-for a choice of better words lets them know that the risk they take in harms way was worth it. On this Memorial Day, keep in mind those who have lost their lives protecting the borders of this country, visit a grave if possible, and always trust in God that He will bring peace back to a once great country that has not yet fallen…but has slipped.
